Public Service and Civic Engagement

Students who major in History and Political Science are encouraged to develop their civic leadership skills by becoming active citizens on campus and in the broader commumity. It is by participating in civic projects as well as intellectual events that students emerge as productive adults, critical thinkers, and motivated caring citizens with effective leadership skills.

History and Political Science majors have the opprotunity to participate in service learning activities ranging from Habitat for Humanity, Reach Out Saint Rose, Stuff-the-Van, and a wide range of Study-Abroad academic and human service projects. The Department of History and Political Science encourages students to value the importance of public service and to contribute to the improvement of our global society.
