Dr. Jenise DePinto joined the Saint Rose History and Political Science faculty in 2005 upon the completion of her doctorate in European History from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Dr. DePinto has won several awards for her doctoral scholarship including the Mildred and Herbert Weisinger Dissertation Fellowship in 2003. Before coming to Saint Rose, Professor DePinto was a lecturer in European history at SUNY Stony Brook and Dowling College. She is currently revising her dissertation, “Re-Imagining Empire and Nation in Early Victorian Britain: Race, Class, and Gender in the Condition of England Question, for publication with Duke University Press. Her main areas of interest are 19th century Britain and the British Empire and Modern Europe with a particular focus on social and cultural history and identity formation. Dr. DePinto teaches a broad repertoire of courses in modern and medieval Europe, British history and Women’s Studies. She is a member of the North American Conference on British Studies, the North American Victorian Studies Association, the American Historical Association, the American Association of University Professors, and Amnesty International.
