| Sculpture:
9 am–Noon
Students in this class will explore a variety of historical sculptures
and will experience different forms of 3-dimensional expression.
The focus of the course will be the creation of 3-dimensional works
of art, but will utilize research and planning-based exercises to
strengthen the meaning and aesthetics of each piece. Students will
use clay, wire, and mat board—among other materials—to
gain a fuller range of sculpting skills. Supplies are provided.
Drawing: 9 am–Noon
This class will emphasize perceptual skills of drawing through observation.
Technical and expressive forms of drawing objects and landscapes
will be covered utilizing various 2-D media including charcoal,
pastel, conte, graphite, markers and papers. This class will give
the student a structured approach to seeing form and applying this
sight to drawing. Supplies are provided.
Digital
Photography:
9 am–Noon
Working in small groups, student will explore lighting, color, texture,
composition, and other subject matter to achieve a solid grounding
in both technical and creative
photographic processes. Also includes
scanning, finding/creating online
digital images, and graphic
design basics.

Painting: 1–4
pm
Students will be exposed to a variety of painting styles from traditional
landscapes and portraiture, to impressionistic works and pop art.
Artistic media will include acrylics and watercolor. Students of
all ability levels are welcome. Supplies are provided.
Graphic
Design:
1–4 pm
This class provides an introduction to graphic design and the process
of visual problem solving and conceptual thinking. A variety of
projects including logo design and product packaging will help students
learn how to integrate the message, the image, and the medium in
a creative and meaningful way. Supplies are provided.
